The Race model can boast such a gram conscious figure because it uses a super lightweight 4 cell Li-Ion battery. Lithium-Ion batteries have become the industry standard by virtue of their excellent energy-to-weight ratios and slow loss of charge when not in use. And with an easy 4.5 hour recharge time, you can have the light up and running again in time for the next ride. The rate at which the power of the battery is drained hinges on what setting you dictate for your beam. Since the Race version comes with three settings as well as a flash mode, you can run it at full 1500 lumens for 1.5 hours. The medium setting puts you at 900 lumens for 3 hours, while the most economical setting still gives you a more than adequate 450 lumens for 6 hours.The NiteRider PRO 1500 Race Light comes with a helmet mount and a handlebar mount which will fit bars up to 31.8mm. An extension cable is also included so that you can carry the battery in your backpack while mounting the lamp unit on your helmet.
