Amazon.com Product Description The WeeRide Kangaroo center-mounted bike seat offers an award-winning design that makes biking with your child much safer and much more fun. It's installed onto virtually any bicycle via a patent pending, independent steel support bar that attaches between the front handle bar tube and the seat post. It provides a much more enjoyable and interactive experience for the child and rider. Your child's needs can be heard, seen and attended to more easily, and he or she has a more interesting view--no more staring at someone's back. Other advantages include no dangling arms or legs to reach wheels and the rear of the bike is free to carry your gear. The seat is made from an injection-molded plastic form, and it features a comfortable padded foam seat, height adjustable foot cups, and a fully adjustable three-point security harness. The Padded pedestal armrest sitting atop the handlebars gives children somewhere comfortable to put their hands, and can serve as a headrest for the napping toddler. The steel support bar is an independent support system that does not interfere with brake cables or other attached bicycle gear. It includes different sizes of plastic spacers for the front yoke attachment and rear seat post to protect the posts and ensure it fits on almost any recreational bicycle available. It's easily removable for when you want to ride on your own. It can be used with mountain/city bikes with upright handlebars (with drop-handled racing handlebars, the rider leans forward too much for the child to sit comfortably). Children should be at least 1 year old, and it has a maximum weight capacity of 40 pounds. This bike seat is designed for casual riding on smooth, flat, paved and dry surfaces free of sand, gravel or dirt.

Wonderful for 6-24mo child September 5, 2010 Dr. K I LOVE this seat. My daughter is a tall 20 month old (35 inches/30+ lbs) and she fits. I love having her in front of me when we bike. It makes for wonderful Mommy/child time as the child is right in front of you. You can talk to your child about things you see w/o risk of taking your eyes on the road by turning your head at all to show your child something. I do agree that your legs are forced out a little bit to the side enough to make long up hill biking more difficult. If you are doing long distances (5+ miles), you might want to consider a seat for the back of your bike. If you want to go for a 5 mile ride that does not include long hills, this is fabulous! My daughter loves it and runs to my bike when she sees the bike is out of the shed.
My son and I really enjoy this seat August 24, 2010 BKE We love our WeeRide!
This installed relatively easily. The WeeRide comes with all the tools you need to install: Allen wrench and wrench. The first step is to fit the bar between the handlebar stem and the seat stem. Basically the bar sits parallel to the bar on the typical "boy" bike. My bike is pretty small and I was worried that there wouldn't be enough space to secure the front of the bar. There was just enough room for the front of the bar. Then the seat itself is secured onto the bar. You can easily take it on and off. The seat also slides back and on the bar a little bit. Once we get over the trauma of putting on his helmet, my son loves riding in his seat. He sometimes leans down and grabs a hold of the handlebars and pretends to steer with me. It's very cute and it doesn't affect my steering. Once or twice he has put his feet up on the handlebars, which is sort of scary because it definitely affects my steering and could cause me to swerve. So I have to be firm about not letting him do that.
I am very happy with this purchase. I was reluctant to get a bike trailer - a trailer just seemed like way more gear than I wanted. I just want to get on the bike and go and not have to mess with a whole other piece of equipment. Also, I'm just very wary of the safety of trailers, too. The profile is so low (even with the recommended flag) and I'm worried that cars can't see the trailer and that a car would turn into it. (Yes, neurotic mother, I know.) On the WeeRide, my son can see where we're going (another advantage over trailer).
I definitely recommend the WeeRide.
Great Child Seat August 18, 2010 Emmit Fitts Humes (Miami, FL) This seat feels very secure. An best of all, the child can ride with you instead of looking at your back like many other seats do. It is very easy to install and remove. I take it off after every use. It takes about 30 seconds to remove the seat. The bar it sits on can stay on the bike and not bother the rider. To put back on the bike is another 30 seconds of screwing in the bolt that holds the seat on the bar.
Would highly recommend this.
Absolutly awesome July 13, 2010 jade lanverton I was skeptical about this product. My son is 1 but the size of a 3 year old 33 lbs I was afraid he was going to be too big. I attached to my beachcruiser and it works awesome. People see me at beach and i always hear aww how cool or thats cute!! Steering is no problem and he seems to love it. I just need to get him a bigger helmet his head is big and the 3 year old helmet seems to be to small. I feel totally safe and secure with him on weeride. Awesome invention I'm so glad I finally got one it is so much fun.
Don't own item yet, but check out the promo image... July 13, 2010 Jessica 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm researching which bike seat to get for my son, and this one seems very appealing. Only problem is, the promo image of the mom on the red bike with the baby in the seat is clearly photoshopped. Her back leg appears to be in front of the red top bar, and the baby in the seat has clearly been added to the picture. Not very helpful when wondering how the seat fits on your own bike, and not a good sign as to the reliability of the product and the company! Just thought everyone should know!
