This bike is very nice single speed for the money, comes with some flashier parts than most in this price range it just need a few upgrades and it's golden. The first thing it needs is real rim strips or your gonna have flats all the time. Throw away the saddle, change the bars and stem to lighten it up, and get some real bar tape. I have done all this to mine, including diamond wrapping the bars with black & white tape, and a new white saddle to make the rims pop just for flash. Have got quite a few compliments on this bike.

This bike is well worth the money. Very easy to asssemble, looks great, reasonably light. Mine was not without a problem, however, as there was a intermittent popping sound coming from the crank. I called the 800 number from a decal located on the frame and talked to a very helpful woman in customer service who sent me the entire bottom bracket assembly. She was very concerned about this problem and gave me her ext so I could talk to her directly if the noise was not resolved. It was, but you have to install the parts yourself or pay a LBS to do it. She did give the option of sending the bike back for a complete replacement but I had already 'bonded' with it! Be sure to keep the box intact in case you do need it. I did install a flat handlebar on mine. I have a Felt f70 road bike and wanted a more upright riding position on this one. This bike is a lot of fun! It accelerates easily and holding a 17-19 mph average is no problem with stock gearing. I'm 6'1" and this frame size (only one available) fits me just fine. I had no idea how much fun a single speed could be! I've had this bike for 2 months now and I ride it more than the Felt. At this price, and considering how nice it rides, I can justify some upgrades later on. No regrets!

I'll break my experience into chunks for easier reading...
This bike SMALL. I didn't measure the frame, but unlike the couple of reviews I read that claimed it was a "bigger" men's bike, it's not even a close fit for my 6'1" stature. Best guess is the frame is about 54cm. Someone my height should be riding a 58-61cm. -1 star for sizing ambiguity.
This bike is not in the Schwinn catalog. This is because it is a Schwinn licensed Pacific product. The manual that comes with it says Pacific. When I called the included tech support number for questions about what tools I need to put it together (because they're not listed--surprise, surprise) it was through Pacific. I understand that Pacific owns Schwinn (or visa versa?), but there is a huge difference in quality between the products of the respective brands. Furthermore, a bike like this will have no resale value. -1 star for brand distortion.
Yes, this bike is inexpensive, but it exudes its cheapness from every single component. There are a ton of ugly plastic parts on this bike. The handlebars feel flimsy and awkward--and are a really strange shape and size. The brakes are a safety hazard and the wheels look and feel like plastic. Also, there is NO flip-flop hub for fixie mode and the freewheel gear ratio is terrible. The only nice thing about this bike is the finish--if hot-rod red is your thing. -1 star for failing to include $280 worth of quality bike parts.
When I ultimately retuned this little toy bike, my main return reason was: safety hazard. Between Amazon not refunding my shipping back and what I paid at UPS to package it back up, I lost about $80. -1 star for my overall experience.
With my new net bike budget of $200 I ended up putting that money toward a Fuji Feather (which was on sale at Performance for $400) and I haven't looked back.
My best advice for someone looking to start riding single speed/fixie is either invest in a quality brand name new bike (such as a "genuine" Schwinn Madison) and prepare to spend a minimum of $400 OR put that $280 toward a well-built and cared for vintage/used road bike. Craigslist and bike shops specializing in used bikes are a great place to start.

This bike is really amazing the price is a good one and so is the quality...I got it real quick and that was with the free shipping! I put it together in about 30 min. the only thing about it is the seat...although it is very awesome looking it's not very comfortable all you need is a gel pad and that's about it or a new seat but that's up to you! If your looking for something nice, reliable and fun then get this bike!

My fork was also made incorectly
The wheel did not in my fork
i brought it to my bike and said the fork was a defect i was so frustated
