Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Where To Learn: The best place for training is a back deck, preferably made of wood, with a handrail. Wood is more friendly than concrete, and you'll need to hold onto the handrail while your leg muscles learn to react. If you don't have a back deck, try a baseball field with a chain-link fence. Pick a grassy area with solid, flat dirt and you can hold onto the fence. Does This Thing Have A Front And Back? Yes. The seat post clamp skewer (bolt/nut or quick-release handle) is on the back. The pedal marked "L" should be on your left, "R" on your right.

5 out of 5 stars jane   December 28, 2008

We got this for our 12 yr old son, and he loves it. He has almost gotten the hang of it, in 3 days. We got a book to help him learn how. The unicycle came quickly, with all the correct parts. We had to cut the bar down, in order to make it short enough for him, but it was no problem. There were no instructions, but simple assembly. It was a great price, and seems to be holding up to repeated dropping. I would definitely recommend this as a great starter unicycle!

This was a Christmas gift for our 13 year old son. He is riding it now for 3 days and everything is still working. He said the seat was not very confortable, but this is his first unicycle and he does not know if others have any better seats. My verdict: Perfect for beginners, price and value are inline.

5 out of 5 stars Pedals Not A Problem - A Great Unicycle   December 27, 2008
John Karol (Orford, NH)
I purchased two of these superbly built 20-inch unicycles - one for me and then one for my son. Both came with pedal threads too small for the cranks. A quick call to Raleigh America Inc. at 1-800-222-5527 (ask for Tyler in Customer Service @ Ext. 346, or Tony in Sales @ Ext. 250) set everything straight. They immediately shipped the proper pedals free of charge. Raleigh America is aware of the situation and has taken steps to correct it. This is a great little unicycle at an unbelievably reasonable price.

Everything seemed to be fine until my husband went to put the pedals on. The fittings were the wrong size and he had to go to a bike shop to buy the right pedals, making this not the best deal afterall. Another reviewer had the same problem. We are happy with unicycle, and it was shipped promptly.

We had to re-order as the initial order came with the wrong pedals, but the error was corrected in a timely manner and the second shipment was good. Using a unicycle is a challenge for my pre-teen; which is good!
